Previously, he was a founding partner of Ortuzar, Vergara, Aguila & Cia. (1983-1998). Prior to that he served as chief counsel for the Division of Banks in Liquidation (1982), and as legal counsel at Price Waterhouse’s tax department (1979-1982).
He has been elected board member of major listed corporations, and has also been appointed as arbitrator in domestic and international disputes.
He studied Law at the Catholic University of Chile, graduating with highest honors in 1979.
He was professor of Civil and Commercial Law at the Catholic University of Chile and the Gabriela Mistral University.
